Our “new” colleague Frans de Jong

A few months ago Frans de Jong re-joined the Macawi team as Systems Engineer with special focus on respiratory sEMG technology. He has nearly 40 years of experience in the development and production of medical equipment. With a background in electronics and embedded software Frans started as an engineer in the field of patient monitoring.

Later he grew into various roles like project manager, service manager and quality manager, but in 2004 he decided to follow his heart and returned to the R&D department as Systems Engineer in the development of respiratory ventilators.

Together with four colleagues Frans founded Macawi in 2010, and they became part of the Demcon group three years later. In 2018 Frans switched to the Demcon engineering group to work on various other medical devices. When Macawi decided to further invest in sEMG technology Frans re-joined the development team to contribute to the new possibilities this measuring function has to offer for respiratory therapy.
We are happy Frans is back.
