Demcon macawi respiratory systems has obtained a patent for an innovative method to detect and classify apnea in preterm infants. By using existing monitoring signals, the technology provides healthcare professionals with greater insight into the causes of breathing pauses, supporting the selection of the most appropriate treatment. The patented method was invented by Frans de Jong of Demcon macawi respiratory systems.

Sarah van der Stam recently celebrated her one-year anniversary as an application engineer. Over the past year, she has applied her biomedical expertise and strong communication skills to develop intelligent algorithms that support advanced ventilation strategies in the ICU.
