Together with 13 international partners, Macawi will contribute to the development and testing of an Artificial Intelligence Decision Support System to optimize medical ventilation of ICU patients: IntelliLung.
The decision support system will be extended with Demcon Macawi’s novel sEMG technology that can measure respiratory muscle activity continuously and non-invasively. The European Union has recently approved €6 million of funding for the IntelliLung project, coordinated by Professor Thea Koch and Dr. Jakob Wittenstein from the Dresden Technical University (EU HORIZON-HLTH-2021).
The preparations have already started, and the kick-off meeting will take place in Dresden early September 2022. We are proud to be part of this project and we look forward to working together with a fantastic team of international specialists to realize this challenging live saving technology!
