As of May 2022, Sytske Klomp joined the Demcon Macawi team as Product Manager sEMG. With 24 years of experience in various roles in a high-tech environment, Sytske is an excellent addition to the Demcon Macawi team. In her new role as product manager, she will be responsible for a successful market introduction of our new development product sEMG. This OEM based surface ElectroMyoGraphy (sEMG) system is able to measure the respiratory muscle activity for all patient groups (neonatal to adults) through the skin (non-invasively).
What is sEMG ?
Ultimately, by continuously and real time measuring the activity of the most important respiratory muscle, the diaphragm, medical ventilation can be optimized to the needs of each individual patient. This will improve the patients comfort and reduce hospital stay time and costs. The sEMG technology has been proven and described in several medical publications.
